Foundation Replacement

Foundation Replacement

Basement foundation replacement can be performed for the entire foundation or one wall at a time. One way to know for sure you need foundation replacement is if the wall is bowing in at the very bottom course (or row) of block that you see like in the picture to the right. In this scenario the likelihood is that there no footer or a failed footer.  The footer is like a concrete sidewalk that is poured in place before the wall is built so that it has a solid “footing” or base to start on. Another tell tale sign would be if the wall is sliding off of the very bottom course of block. Often times in these cases you will see mud coming into the basement when there is a water leak. Some bowing basement walls or basement walls that have slid slightly from the course above can be saved and stabilized.

It may seem obvious, but if the mortar falls out like sand with the rub of your finger, the exterior part is even worse.  In the picture to the left, several of the basement wall blocks have shifted from their original position due to the mortar rot. In this case the structural integrity of the basement wall is gone and needs foundation replacement.

There are many considerations and factors involved in whether you are a candidate for foundation repair or full foundation replacement.  Call us for a free* no obligation consultation where we will be able to evaluate your specific situation and review all options. Call toll free 877-321-4889
